How Pipeup works

Pipeup adds comments to any HTML page, so people can give feedback right where it applies. This page runs Pipeup: try commenting on it as you read.

Press ⇧ ⌥ C to start commenting, then select some words on this page, or click a paragraph or the diagram below.

Commenting

Turn on commenting from the round button in the corner, or with the shortcut. Then point at what you mean:

Replies sit under the comment they answer. When commenting is off, comments stay out of the way; the number on the button tells you they're there, and All comments lists every one.

Who you are

There's nothing to sign up for. You start as an animal in a colour, like Red Fox, and you can add your name whenever you like. Only you can edit or delete your own comments.

Where comments go

Comments are kept in your own browser. To share them, choose Copy as Markdown: every comment is copied as Markdown that says exactly where it is. Paste it to the author any way you like.

Working with AI

Copy as Markdown turns every open comment into Markdown that says exactly where it is: the section, the element and the words. Paste it into your agent and it can make the changes. Agent skills teach AI tools to add Pipeup to a page, summarise feedback and apply it.

Adding it to a page

Pipeup is one file with no dependencies, and it works when a page is opened straight from disk. Put pipeup.min.js next to your page and add one line before </body>:

<script src="pipeup.min.js"></script>

Or let your agent do it: copy the prompt from the Pipeup home page and paste it in with your file open.
